Abstract

The rapid evolution of information and new media technologies presents a dual narrative of promise and peril for humanity. AI-enabled innovations, notably Deepfake technology, offer appealing prospects for creating engaging content and digitally replicating individuals in multimedia. Yet, these developments also raise significant ethical and societal challenges, including the proliferation of misinformation and the propagation of fake news. The paper advocates for a human-centric approach where the introduction of new technologies promotes human welfare and human society.
